Director General ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry told CNN that Pakistan is mediating between the United States and Iran to secure a peaceful outcome.

Pakistan condemns attacks on both sides
The military spokesperson stated that Pakistan openly condemned Israeli attacks on Iran as well as Iran's retaliatory campaign in the Gulf. He added that the country has clearly communicated its position to all partners and friends regarding these actions. Chaudhry emphasized that no one benefits from expanding this war into a wider regional conflict.
Commitment to negotiated peaceful resolution
Lt Gen Chaudhry reiterated that Pakistan is committed to a negotiated and peaceful outcome for the ongoing conflict. He said the nation is doing whatever is possible and necessary so that the gap between the belligerents narrows. The spokesperson stressed that Pakistan maintains its stake in regional peace and stability while acting with honesty.
Context on Saudi Arabia ties
The DG ISPR explained that Pakistani forces have been deployed in Saudi Arabia for decades based on sustained diplomatic and military ties. He noted that the relationship between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye is built on political and people-to-people connections. Regarding the Makkah defence agreement, he stated its implementation would be purely defensive in nature.
