Pakistan and China launch new information corridor to counter misinformation
Pakistan and China launched the China-Pakistan Information Corridor in Islamabad on Tuesday to strengthen media cooperation and promote cultural exchange.

Ceremony details and attendees
The event took place at the Pakistan-China Friendship Centre with Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning and Ambassador Jiang Zaidong in attendance. Information Minister Ataullah Tarar addressed the televised ceremony to highlight the initiative's focus on verified news exchange and digital platform collaboration.
Four pillars of cooperation
The corridor operates on four specific pillars including media, business and enterprises, think tanks, and culture or tourism. The media component will establish a working group of eighteen organisations to share verified news and fact-check content.
Broader strategic goals
Officials stated the project aims to connect the minds of people in both nations while building on the legacy of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The initiative also seeks to deepen ties among academia, businesses, universities and young people through joint research and youth exchanges.
