NCCIA arrests 212 people after raiding three Islamabad call centres
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency raided three illegal call centres in Islamabad on Tuesday and took 212 individuals into custody.
Seized equipment and arrested suspects
Officials recovered 306 mobile phones, 383 computers, and 299 monitors during the operations. The detainees included men and women of Pakistani and Chinese nationality. Investigators registered a case against the group while an investigation is currently underway.
Specific fraud methods identified
Suspects allegedly used Google scams, low-dating schemes, and fraudulent trading offers to target victims online. Initial reports indicate the network was linked to India and Brazil through these activities. Authorities noted that some suspects posed as representatives of financial institutions.
Locations of the raids
The operations targeted facilities established in Sectors E-11 and G-10 within the capital city. Two of the three centres were located specifically in the G-10 sector area. The third facility was situated in the E-11 sector.
