Mir Raza judicial commission tenure extended until October 15
A one-member judicial commission investigating the death of Mir Raza Ali in Karachi has had its mandate extended until October 15.
Proceedings adjourned pending cabinet decision
The commission could not hold hearings on Monday because its initial 30-day term expired. An order sheet indicated that proceedings were paused until October 2 at 10am while awaiting the Sindh cabinet's final approval. The panel had previously dismissed a request to summon the Karachi police chief before this adjournment.
Focus on investigation and medical lapses
The inquiry is currently examining alleged errors in the initial investigation and the conduct of the first autopsy. Officials noted that the panel questioned discrepancies regarding CCTV footage and the circumstances surrounding a fire at the crime scene. Justice Omar Sial has also summoned senior officials to address performance issues related to the original investigation team.
