Lahore ranks as most polluted major city globally again
Lahore recorded an air quality index of 167 on Friday morning to top the global pollution rankings according to IQAir.

Provincial authorities monitor smog levels
Punjab officials intensified anti-smog operations across the provincial capital after air quality slipped into the unhealthy category. The Punjab Environment Protection Agency reported an AQI of 500 on Multan Road at 6am before conditions changed later. Winds were expected to increase speed between 1pm and 2pm to help disperse pollutants.
Other Pakistani cities face pollution
Karachi ranked 34th on the list with an air quality index of 69. Lahore was the only Pakistani city in the top 30 most polluted cities on Friday. Dhaka and Cairo followed Lahore in the global rankings with indices of 164 and 158 respectively.
