KP Chief Minister inaugurates new hybrid buses and pink bus service in Peshawar
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi inaugurated new transport projects including hybrid buses and a dedicated women's service in Peshawar on September 29.
New fleet expansion details
The event included the formal launch of new hybrid buses joining the existing Peshawar BRT fleet. Secretary Transport & Mass Transit Muhammad Zubair stated that these additions would improve public transport reach and quality. The total number of buses in the fleet will rise from 244 to 296 units.
Special services and solar project
A dedicated Pink Bus Service comprising five vehicles was launched to provide safe travel for women. Officials also inaugurated a new depot at Mall of Hayatabad and a 1 MW solar project at Chamkani Depot. CEO TransPeshawar Dr Syed Murtaza Asghar Bukhari briefed guests on the system's performance over the past six years.
