Senior PTI leaders including Mian Akram Usman and Mehr Naeemullah Taj were taken into custody while accompanying the Chief Minister's convoy. Police allegedly moved a prisoner van toward the CM, leading to a confrontation before he boarded the vehicle himself. Afridi stated that Punjab police attempted to abduct him and dumped him on the street at Lakshmi Chowk.
Allegations of route blockades
The Chief Minister claimed in a video message that authorities blocked routes and removed tents from a protest camp. He further alleged that police switched off lights along some roads and closed petrol stations to stop vehicles from refuelling. Supporters gathered for the ongoing street movement despite the party not issuing a formal call for a protest.
