JI leader Munem Zafar stated that Rs1,567 billion was collected under the levy during the last fiscal year. He noted that every citizen pays Rs130 per litre in taxes, with Rs85 specifically designated as the petroleum levy. The group argues this financial burden should not be shifted to the public.

The party leader criticized K-Electric for causing up to 18 hours of load-shedding in the metropolis. He described the situation as collective punishment against consumers and demanded government intervention to resolve the issue.
