FIA busts fake apostille network involving six MoFA officials in Islamabad
The Federal Investigation Agency busted a fake apostille network in Aabpara, Islamabad, on Sunday and booked 22 suspects including six Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials.
Raid targets basement offices
Anti-Corruption Circle officers raided several consultancy and courier offices located in the basement of F&F Plaza. The operation was based on information received from reliable sources regarding the preparation and use of fake stickers. Investigators seized official stamps and documents linked to the alleged criminal network.
Case registered against suspects
Police registered Case No 48/2026 against the accused under sections of the Pakistan Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act. The investigation identified sixteen private individuals working for firms such as Sofi Consultants and Excellent Courier Service. Six officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also nominated in the case file.
Accused sought bribes
The network allegedly collected large sums from applicants by promising to expedite attestation services. Officials are accused of taking bribes to facilitate the misuse of government seals and documents. Authorities continue to investigate the full extent of the corruption involved in this operation.
