Federal IT Minister Shaza Fatima confirms millions registered for fuel relief scheme
Federal Information Technology Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja announced registration figures for the Prime Minister's fuel relief scheme in Islamabad on Friday.
Registration and token numbers rise
The minister stated that approximately 5.8 million people had registered under the program while around 6.1 million tokens were generated. A total of 4.7 million individuals successfully obtained fuel through this facility since its launch.
Rules changed for two-wheelers
Officials removed the five-litre limit for motorcycles, rickshaws and Qingqi after receiving public feedback on the matter. The ownership requirement was also dropped for users operating rented vehicles who previously could not register.
Eligible vehicle types defined
The scheme covers motorcycles, rickshaws, Qingqi and cars with engine capacities up to 800cc. Eligible users can receive a Rs 500 token once every week without any volume restrictions.
