Missing legal documents explained

Adiala jail officials did not appear before the court to explain their absence. The defence lawyers confirmed that they had received the document for Hadi Chattha but lacked the one for Imaan Mazari. A deputy superintendent previously stated that neither set of documents reached the jail according to official records.

Judge questions jail administration

The judge asked whether the deputy superintendent collected the vakalatnamas from the sessions court on the relevant day. He expressed displeasure over the failure to obtain signatures required for bail petitions. The court directed the superintendent to explain why he should not face a six-month prison sentence.
