Army warns of decisive force against May 9 agitation attempts
Pakistan army commanders at the 277th Corps Commanders Conference in Rawalpindi on Friday warned that any attempt to create a May 9-like situation would be met with decisive force.

Conference resolves on internal stability
The forum presided over by Field Marshal Asim Munir emphasized the necessity of maintaining internal peace. Officials stated that any agitation created on any pretext will face action under the rule of law without hesitation. The meeting also reviewed the current security landscape and decided to keep forces at a high state of readiness.
Strategy blends kinetic and non-kinetic measures
Leaders praised recent counter-terrorism successes but noted the need for broader governance approaches. Plans include strategic public engagement, dismantling terror-crime networks supported by vested interests, and improving police capabilities. These steps align with the National Action Plan and Vision Azm-i-Istehkam to address threats effectively.
Focus on Afghan terrorism links
The group affirmed Pakistan's right to self-defence against external threats. They identified the Taliban leadership in Afghanistan as responsible for facilitating terrorism on behalf of India. Targeted action remains a priority for dealing with cross-border militant activities emanating from that region.
