AAS-in-Asia 2026 conference concludes at Lahore University of Management Sciences
The Association for Asian Studies in Asia conference ended on Sunday at the Lahore University of Management Sciences after three days.
International scholars gathered in Pakistan
More than 1,000 participants from over 37 countries attended the event. Representatives from 517 institutions joined the gathering to discuss regional issues.
Keynote address focused on climate change
Dr Adil Najam delivered a speech regarding adaptation strategies for water and food security. The keynote argued that environmental concerns require broader social and governance perspectives.
Cultural events marked the closing day
The final session included a performance mixing Bhangra, Kathak and Sufi dance styles. Exhibitions on heritage and endangered imprints were also displayed during the opening sessions.
