Study results show high remission rates

A new clinical trial found that more than half of younger adults achieved remission within six months. Participants followed an intensive lifestyle program combining a low-calorie diet with structured exercise. Only 4% of those receiving standard care reached the same outcome during the study period.

Researchers present findings at EASD

Professor Kaberi Dasgupta from McGill University led the research team alongside colleagues from the University of Leicester. The results were published in The Lancet Regional Health Americas following the annual conference presentation. Early-onset type 2 diabetes patients under age 45 formed the specific group for this investigation.
