Decades of untreated suffering

The 43-year-old woman lived with intense pain from the condition since she started her periods as a teenager. She was diagnosed at age 19 after undergoing a laparoscopy during excruciating episodes. Thurlby spent years believing her monthly symptoms were normal before seeking medical help.

Surgery transformed her life

She lost 10 stone or 140lbs in 18 months following the procedure that removed her uterus. The operation finally brought lasting relief from years of exhaustion and physical agony. Thurlby described the change as night and day compared to her previous existence.
