Tharparkar students dominate MDCAT top 20 while Karachi has none
Results for the Sindh Medical and Dental College Admission Test announced that Tharparkar candidates topped the rankings with no Karachi student in the top 20.
Top ranking performance by region
Five students from Tharparkar secured positions within the top 20 list of the exam. Their scores ranged between 176 and 179 marks out of a possible 180. Twelve candidates from that district also placed in the top 50, representing 24 percent of that group.
Pass rates across Sindh districts
A total of 33,336 candidates appeared for the test conducted by IBA Sukkur. The overall pass rate for the province reached 49.5 percent with 16,507 students qualifying. Karachi recorded a higher pass rate of 57.8 percent compared to Tharparkar at 59.7 percent.
Distribution in top 1000 list
Eighteen students from Karachi appeared in the top 100 candidates while 37 made the top 200. The city accounted for 111 entries in the top 500 and 210 spots in the top 1,000.
