South Cumbria group hosts online forum for menopause pain support
Menopause Matters in South Cumbria is holding a free online event on Sunday between 19:00 and 20:00 BST to discuss chronic pain at midlife.

Event format and timing
The forum invites participants to share experiences and ask questions about menopause-related issues. Facilitator Leigh Williams stated the session aims to open up the conversation around pain. The event marks World Menopause Day with a theme focused on chronic pain.
Professional and personal perspectives
Participants will include a GP, a pelvic health physiotherapist, and a local authority health professional. The session combines expert advice with personal stories from individuals living with perimenopause. This open conversation format differs from traditional webinars or expert panels.
Additional local support options
Menopause Matters also runs a monthly cafe-style drop-in meeting in Barrow-in-Furness for informal interaction. Williams created the role of facilitator after her own experience with perimenopause and chronic pain. She noted that some attendees have not been able to talk about these topics before.
