Rugby player Rosie Stewart memorial match promotes female health awareness
Fans gathered in Derry last Saturday for an annual rugby match honoring the late Irish international and breast cancer survivor Rosie Stewart.

Two teams from different parts of Northern Ireland contested the Rosie Stewart Memorial Bowl on a sunny September afternoon. The event commemorates Stewart, who won four caps for Ireland between 1999 and 2000 before dying in 2004 after a breast cancer diagnosis. Her former club Cooke played against Enniskillen while family members watched from the sidelines.
Health discussion held before game
A women's health discussion took place prior to the contest and was hosted by Jacinta McCool of the Western Trust. Fitness coach Claire O'Hagan spoke on female strength, conditioning, and how the menstrual cycle affects athletic performance.
