Study results presented Monday

Randomized Phase 3 study results showed the targeted chemotherapy lowered mortality rates significantly. The specific medication is known as sacituzumab tirumotecan or sac-TMT. This treatment has already received approval in China for multiple cancer types.

Global trials support approvals

Merck is currently running 18 global Phase 3 studies to support regulatory approvals outside China. Ten of these specific trials focus on women's cancers including endometrial cancer. The company aims to gain approval in the United States and Europe.

Revenue strategy for Merck

The drug helps replace revenue that will be lost when Keytruda loses patent protection in 2028. Kelun conducted the initial studies where the drug demonstrated survival-extending benefits. These findings are exclusive to STAT+ subscribers.
