Doctors threaten service shutdown
Leaders at the joint press conference stated that medical professionals could halt all healthcare services indefinitely if tax concerns remain unresolved. The groups opposed mandatory point-of-sale systems and specific penalties under Section 175C. A one-day strike was observed Wednesday across multiple cities in Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.
Emergency care remains open
Organizers confirmed that life-saving departments including emergency rooms and intensive care units continued operating at public hospitals during the protest. Rallies and demonstrations were held in support of the strike action. Several private outpatient departments and diagnostic services suspended operations in response to the tax policies.
