Regulators target twelve facilities

State officials announced the action to take away all licenses held by the New Jersey-based company. The move follows reporting that detailed how Eli Mirlis purchased the homes and reduced staffing levels. Officials stated that these cuts affected quality of care at many locations.

Enhanced monitoring replaces immediate control

Despite the revocation order, RegalCare will not immediately lose control of its facilities. Department of Public Health officials confirmed that the homes remain under the company's management for now. Instead, the properties are subject to enhanced monitoring from state health inspectors.
