King Charles charity partners with Tariq Halal Meats to support Pakistan mental health
The British Asian Trust and Tariq Halal Meats announced a partnership in London on September 24, 2026, to improve mental health care in Pakistan.
Partnership aims to raise awareness
Tariq Halal Meats will utilize its network of over 40 branches and digital platforms for this initiative. The company plans to encourage open conversations about mental health within British Asian communities. These efforts are designed to generate donations specifically for the Trust's work in Pakistan.
Scale of the need is high
An estimated 50 million people in Pakistan currently experience mental health issues. Approximately one in four individuals will be affected by these conditions during their lifetime. Despite this large population, around 90 percent of those requiring treatment cannot access appropriate support.
Leaders marked the official launch
Asif Rangoonwala CBE and Tariq Sheikh attended the event at Rangoonwala's office. The gathering included senior executives and Thaira Sheikh, daughter of the meat supplier founder. Representatives from the King's charity were also present to reflect on the shared commitment.
