Funding resolves immediate financial risk

Director Lucinda Bray stated that the organization faced potential closure of its physical meetings due to lack of money. Grants from the Postcode Lottery and the National Lottery provided £50,000 and £20,000 respectively to stop this threat. The group now plans to continue its current operations while looking for long-term sustainability.

Face-to-face meetings remain essential

Bray warned that moving these sessions online would harm vulnerable women in the county. She explained that having a safe space to discuss suicidal thoughts acts as a preventative measure for mental health issues. Without this real-world outlet, she questioned where participants might turn for help.

Support reaches many families

The foundation was established in 2015 and has assisted over 1,000 families across the region. It specifically targets women dealing with postpartum mental health challenges through peer support networks.
