Pilot program details announced

The agency stated the initiative aims to reduce the time required for drugmakers to begin testing products in humans. This effort is part of Operation TrialBlazer, a Department of Health and Human Services initiative first announced in June.

Goal to compete globally

The department wrote that the U.S. pathway often takes years while other countries measure theirs in months. The roadmap pledged to help the United States compete with rapidly accelerating biotechnology industries in nations like China and Australia.
