Ellie Leach appeared on Good Morning Britain on September 11 to discuss her abnormal smear test results and subsequent treatment.
Initial test results revealed abnormalities
The 25-year-old actress stated she was nervous about her first ever smear test. She waited for results that came back showing an abnormal condition and a positive HPV result. Leach explained that the abnormal cells indicated a pre-cancerous position.
Medical procedure removed cervical cells
Doctors informed her that her cells were pre-cancerous after the initial screening. She underwent an LLETZ procedure to remove the affected cells from her cervix. Leach noted that many people have HPV without realizing it.
