Chesley Sullenberger inducted into National Aviation Hall of Fame
Pilot Chesley Sullenberger was inducted into the US National Aviation Hall of Fame during a ceremony in Washington DC.

Recognition of 2009 emergency landing
The pilot acknowledged that saving more than 150 lives in 2009 contributed to his selection. He noted the event was later used as the basis for a film starring Tom Hanks. Sullenberger emphasized that his career involved a lifetime of flying rather than just one flight.
Military service and aviation dream
A former member of the US Air Force, he stated he knew from a young age he wanted to fly airplanes. He described spending an entire working lifetime doing something he loved. His induction joins six other members in the 2026 class.
