British Asian Trust partners with Tariq Halal Meats to expand mental health support in Pakistan
The British Asian Trust and Tariq Halal Meats announced a partnership on September 25 in London to improve mental health services across Pakistan.
Partnership aims to increase access
The agreement involves the UK and Europe's largest halal meat supplier supporting the charity's work. This collaboration targets transforming awareness, services, and access to care for those in need. Approximately 90% of people requiring treatment currently cannot reach appropriate support systems.
Leaders marked the launch event
Asif Rangoonwala CBE and Tariq Sheikh attended the ceremony at Rangoonwala's office. Senior executives from both organizations and Thaira Sheikh were present to reflect on the commitment. The group highlighted mental health as an urgent yet under-recognised challenge in the region.
Scope covers digital platforms
Tariq Halal Meats will utilize its more than 40 branches and digital platforms for this work. Relationships with customers and suppliers form part of the strategy to deliver aid. The initiative addresses an estimated 50 million people who experience mental health issues.
