Balochistan CM says 150-bed Quetta hospital nears completion
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti announced that the new 150-bed Balochistan Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Quetta will be inaugurated later this month.

Hospital inauguration timeline confirmed
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti stated during a meeting that the modern facility is finishing construction. The project includes three satellite centres that will start operations immediately to provide basic services. These initial centres ensure timely diagnosis for patients before the main network expands later. Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar informed the board about the phased rollout of medical units.
Dr Jalal Khan appointed head
The Board of Directors approved Dr Jalal Khan as the interim head of the institute. This renowned cardiologist will oversee preparations to meet modern medical standards for patient care. The appointment ensures qualified specialists manage the administrative structure and equipment installation. Bugti noted that establishing such institutions is a key priority for the provincial government.
Satellite centres expand coverage
Chest Pain Management Centres will open in every district to assist patients with cardiovascular symptoms. The second phase plans to extend the satellite network to all divisional headquarters across the province. This expansion eliminates the need for patients to travel outside Balochistan for specialised cardiac care. Modern diagnostic tools and emergency medical equipment will be installed throughout the new facility.
