Mod reveals character insights and career path

The thirty-one year old English actress plays Laila Joshi in the show. She describes her character as a rogue operative who treats killing like a mundane job similar to accounting work. Mod previously worked as a personal assistant at Condé Nast before performing comedy sketches. Her breakthrough role came alongside Ben Whishaw in the film This Is Going to Hurt. She later earned a place on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list for 2024.

Therapy history and emotional detachment explained

In 2022 she told The Times about seeking therapy for depression and anxiety. She stated that she nearly turned down the role due to severe imposter syndrome. Mod explained that she felt everyone thought she was an imposter even when not doing anything remarkable. She recalled cutting herself off emotionally from pain in 2019 which led to a lack of pleasure. This condition known as anhedonia meant she could not experience positive feelings regardless of her actions.

Industry recognition and rising status noted

The Sunday Times recognised her as one of the twenty five most inspiring people aged thirty and under in the UK and Ireland. Harper's Bazaar UK also named her one of their 2024 Women of the Year. Although she once hesitated, she remains hailed as an emerging television talent today. Her candid discussion highlights the challenges faced by actors in high profile productions.
