Van Toffler returns to produce MTV VMAs in Los Angeles
Former MTV Networks head Van Toffler produced the MTV Video Music Awards from Los Angeles for a second consecutive year on CBS.
Show moves back to west coast
The telecast is being broadcast from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. This marks the first time the show has aired from the west coast since 2017. Van Toffler made the decision to relocate the event from New York and New Jersey.

Madonna is appearing after a twenty-three-year absence from the ceremony. Snoop Dogg will host the two-hour program on CBS. The broadcast also features tributes to Dolly Parton and George Michael.

Taylor Swift is set to premiere a new music video during the show. Young performers including Lisa, Raye and Sienna Spiro are also featured. A lifetime honor for Nirvana rounds out the special recognition.
