Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights celebrates 35 years with Hellraiser maze
Universal Orlando Resort members of the creative team discussed the literary roots of this year's Halloween Horror Nights event which runs for 35 years.
Hellraiser maze design details
The Hellraiser house features a towering recreation of the Lament Configuration puzzle box. Art director Cam Carbia designed the exterior with embedded programmable LED lights and chains. Senior Director Mike Aiello noted that the box serves as an invitation for guests to enter.
Scenic construction inside the house
Scenic designer Dylan Kollath constructed a disorienting labyrinth within the attraction space. The queue line allows visitors to pass through the puzzle box like main characters in the film. This setup offers five to seven minutes of legendary suffering based on Clive Barker's work.
