Tokyo International Film Festival TIFFCOM market exhibition space sells out early
Japanese producers and international partners attended the sold-out Tokyo International Film Festival TIFFCOM market exhibition this year.

Market attendance reaches new heights
Managing director Ikeda Kaori stated that the exhibition space filled up early in the current year. Last year's event hosted over 4,600 industry professionals from 46 different countries and regions. Attendance figures for the previous edition showed a rise of 13 percent compared to prior years.
Shift toward project development partnerships
More Japanese creators now use the market to locate partners while their projects remain in development stages. The platform has evolved beyond trading finished content to include matchmaking during the initial project phase. This shift led to significant increases in participation from domestic producers seeking collaboration opportunities.
Expansion into new categories and regions
The Tokyo IP Market now includes 10 participating holders and added toys as a new category. A pitch event format change requires each company to present its flagship intellectual property specifically. An initiative linked to the Cannes Film Market also established connections with the XR sector.
