Trial verdicts and charges

A Manhattan jury found all three brothers guilty on all counts during a trial that concluded with a verdict read on March 9. The defendants did not take the stand while eleven women testified over the course of the proceedings. Alon and Tal were convicted of sex trafficking a minor, and Oren and Alon faced additional convictions for aggravated sexual abuse.

Sentencing arguments and court

The brothers had requested 15-year sentences after the guilty verdict, but prosecutors asked for life imprisonment. Judge Caproni rejected the life sentence as draconian and handed down three-decade terms before a packed courtroom. Eleven victims addressed the court for nearly 90 minutes while a twelfth victim submitted a written statement.

Prosecution allegations on methods

Prosecutors alleged that the defendants used their wealth and influence to lure women into the scheme. The indictment claimed the group drug, sexually assaulted, and raped victims in some cases. A video shown at trial depicted Oren Alexander raping an incapacitated 17-year-old girl in 2009.
