Sentient Entertainment has announced that Tessa Thompson and Michael Shannon have joined the cast of Ramin Bahrani's upcoming film Last Meals, with principal photography scheduled to begin this fall.

The project features Mads Mikkelsen in the lead role alongside Boyd Holbrook. Thompson will portray a local food critic named Hannah, while Shannon plays Governor George Callahan. HanWay Films is handling international sales for the feature produced by Sentient Entertainment.

Mikkelsen stars as Walter Karat, a former White House chef now working in a maximum security prison. He cooks for death row inmates until an inmate named Reed refuses the food he is given. Walter begins to suspect Reed may be innocent after their interactions disrupt his controlled existence.
