Sylvester Stallone told The Sunday Times he learned of his appointment as a special Hollywood envoy for Donald Trump while watching television and explained why the role would fail.

The actor stated he discovered the nomination after seeing it on TV rather than receiving an invitation. He told reporters that if asked directly, he would have refused the position immediately. Stallone described Hollywood as a collection of feudal states where studios operate independently.

Stallone explained that Mel Gibson and Jon Voight are do-our-own-thing people who cannot accept outside direction. He argued that corporate executives in the industry will not listen to advice from an outsider. The Rocky star concluded that the arrangement is impossible because Hollywood works on its own terms.

The veteran actor thanked Trump for the offer but told him ciao because the plan cannot succeed. He believes the industry will evolve without presidential intervention in finance or management. Stallone maintained that telling six studios how to do things is not possible.
