Stanley Tucci stars in Amazon heist film Masterplan
Stanley Tucci leads a cast including Victor Belmondo and Simona Tabasco in the Amazon Prime streaming movie Masterplan.
Cast and crew details
The film features an art heist plot with British criminal mastermind Roger played by Tucci. His character is described as a parody of aristocrat archetypes who speaks English. The production includes cybersecurity hacker Chiara and explosives expert Jay working remotely under aliases.
Plot and technology elements
The story incorporates updated spy gadgetry such as retina scan cloning and VR intrusion. European criminals use a dark web app to sign up for new gigs. The actors meet for the first time while breaching a secure location.
Release strategy concerns
Amazon Prime is burying the title this weekend to focus on its romantic drama Love of Your Life. Critics suggest the studio is choosing not to promote the heist caper heavily. The film arrives as a straight-to-streaming offering without a theatrical run.
