Skeet Ulrich Says Scream Arc Ended After Melissa Barrera Firing
Actor Skeet Ulrich told US Weekly that his character arc in the Scream franchise could not be finished after co-star Melissa Barrera was removed from the series.

Ulrich explained to US Weekly that he does not plan to return to the franchise. He stated that without Melissa Barrera and Sam Loomis, there is no Billy Loomis. The actor noted that he and Barrera had a chance to complete their planned three-film arc but did not get it.
Reasons for Cast Changes
Barrera was ousted from the films by Spyglass, the franchise producer, following social media posts criticizing Israel in 2023. The company cited a zero tolerance policy regarding antisemitism and hate speech at the time of her removal. Jenna Ortega subsequently announced she would not return for Scream 7 after Barrera's firing.
