Danish filmmaker Sine Plambech directed the documentary Rescue which premiered at the Zurich Film Festival this week.

The film opens with a dinghy carrying refugees spotted by the crew of the Doctors Without Borders ship Geo Barents. Libyan militiamen intervene during the operation and abduct several people, including a woman named Roro and her two young children.
Filmmaker documents struggle to reunite family
Plambech follows Roro's husband Hani for months as he attempts to bring his family back together. The director states she did not know such a human rights violation would occur in front of her camera.
Director heads Zurich documentary competition jury
Plambech returns to the Swiss festival where she previously worked on the 2018 film Heartbound. She currently serves as the head of the documentary competition jury at this year's event.
