Ryan Coogler X-Files reboot picked up to series at Hulu
Hulu has ordered a series for Ryan Coogler's reimagining of The X-Files starring Danielle Deadwyler and Himesh Patel.
New cast and characters defined
The show will feature two highly decorated FBI agents assigned to a long-shuttered division. These actors are playing new characters rather than iterations of the original cast members. Coogler wrote and directed the pilot episode which was picked up in February.
Production team and partners listed
Jennifer Yale serves as showrunner alongside executive producer Ryan Coogler. The project is produced by Proximity Media, Onyx Collective, and 20th Television. Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian also serve as executive producers for the series.
Filmmaker honors original legacy
Coogler stated that the team wanted to honor everything that made the original series connect with people. He noted that the cast brought original perspectives to these characters during development. The production aims to find a new way into the world created by Chris Carter.
