Rolf de Heer appointed president of Tokyo International Film Festival jury
Australian director Rolf de Heer has been named president of the international competition jury for the 39th Tokyo International Film Festival.
De Heers extensive film career
The Australian filmmaker has spent over 40 years working in Tasmania. His 1993 movie Bad Boy Bubby received the Special Jury Prize at Venice. Four of his films have been selected for the official lineup at Cannes.
Festival director welcomes new president
Hisamatsu Takeo expressed delight at welcoming de Heer to the role. The festival will showcase Australian cinema through a dedicated series this year. De Heer plans to view at least 15 films during his jury duties.
