Rachel Kneebone porcelain sculptures hang at Wallace Collection
British sculptor Rachel Kneebone has exhibited nine porcelain works titled Metamorphoses at the Wallace Collection in London.
Artist joins contemporary exhibition line-up
The British sculptor was born in 1973 and is the latest artist invited to show her work at the gallery. She follows Damien Hirst, Flora Yukhnovich and Grayson Perry in this series of shows. Kneebone created these nine milky sculptures between 2017 and 2026 for the display.
Works placed inside Hertford House
The exhibition is located at Hertford House within the London gallery known for its masterpieces. The artist studied at the Royal College of Art in 2004 before starting work with porcelain. These pieces contrast with traditional cups and saucers usually found behind glass in Manchester Square.
Sculptures feature human and floral forms
The display includes sculpted heaps of human shapes alongside various floral designs. Some of the bone-white bubbles are suspended by skinny wires that hold their weight. The installation creates a sense of peril for viewers who see the art hanging in the balance.
