Pedro Pascal learned cello for Behemoth before filming started
Pedro Pascal began taking cello lessons in late July 2025 to prepare for his lead role in the film Behemoth.

Early preparation and commitment
Pascal met with director Tony Gilroy in late July 2025 before any contract was signed. He immediately contacted cellists Timothy Loo and Charlie Tyler to start training. Filming eventually took place in Los Angeles and Vienna at the end of October.
Actor describes intense experience
The star called the process a highly intense lip sync that left him back-footed during the shoot. He stated it was the hardest thing he has ever done in his career. Pascal told Variety that he misses the character more than anything else he has played.
