Netflix is rolling out an experimental AI interface called AI Discover in the United States today to better understand viewer preferences.

New interface tracks user feedback

The streamer introduced a tab on its homepage that opens an environment for users to select themes like Scare Me. A spokesperson stated the system uses a new intelligence layer to respond to what members tell them in real time. This feature allows subscribers to tune their recommendations by giving feedback on how they feel about specific titles.

Rollout expands over coming weeks

The company has been trying to solve content suggestion problems for 20 years as its catalog expands rapidly. The first version of the feature is built around a carousel of themes accompanied by clips from shows. Netflix plans to expand this experimental environment beyond the initial U.S. launch in the coming weeks.
