Final farewell message to viewers

The presenter thanked the audience and his dog Ned before signing off from the show. He described the experience of sharing gardening knowledge with so many people as a privilege and a pleasure. This episode marked the end of his regular presenting duties after he took over the role in 2003.

Future appearances confirmed for host

Don will continue to appear at next year's Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show as part of the line-up. He also plans to feature in two winter specials that are expected to air before Christmas. One special episode will look back on his years presenting the series and changes at Longmeadow.

Long history with the programme

The host first began presenting the series twenty three years ago at Berryfields before moving to Longmeadow sixteen years later. He noted that while the garden has grown and staff have changed, one constant factor remained throughout his tenure. The show has been based at this location for sixteen years since he arrived there.
