Cable specifications and capacity goals

The new system is designed to carry one petabit of data every second. This capacity represents a major technological milestone in global telecommunications history. The cable will stretch approximately 7,000 kilometers across the Atlantic Ocean.

Construction partners and timeline

Meta expects the project to enter commercial service sometime in 2029. The company is working with NEC Corporation and Sumitomo Electric Industries on construction. These partners will handle the eventual deployment of the infrastructure.
