Matthew Macfadyen stars as George Smiley in new Legacy of Spies series
Filming has wrapped on the eight-part BBC and MGM+ espionage thriller Legacy of Spies, which features Matthew Macfadyen as George Smiley.
Cast includes Charlie Hunnam and Hugh Laurie
Charlie Hunnam plays the embattled agent Alec Leamas in the production. The ensemble also features Daniel Brühl, Dan Stevens, Joe Alwyn, and Hugh Laurie among others.
Series adapts two John Le Carré novels
The show is adapted from the bestseller The Spy Who Came in From the Cold. It also draws on material from the 2017 novel A Legacy of Spies.
Production team led by Stephen Cornwell
Stephen Cornwell and Clarissa Ingram serve as showrunners and writers for the project. Michael Lennox acts as executive producer and held lead directorial duties during filming.
