Martin Scorsese says Sony hack cancelled his Angelina Jolie Cleopatra film
Director Martin Scorsese explained during a Tribeca series that the 2014 Sony email leak caused the cancellation of his planned movie starring Angelina Jolie.

Scorsese blames security breach for delay
The filmmaker discussed the abandoned project in the first episode of the Crafty series. He stated that controversy over Seth Rogen's comedy The Interview led to hackers leaking thousands of Sony emails. Martin noted that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un became angry after the film mocked him and subsequently destroyed many projects at Columbia.
Private emails revealed internal conflict
The leaked correspondence exposed private exchanges between producer Scott Rudin and executive Amy Pascal. One message described Angelina Jolie as a minimally talented spoiled brat. This exchange was part of the fallout that prevented the production from moving forward.
