Martin Freeman to voice Gromit in new autobiography audiobook

Nick Park has announced that Martin Freeman will narrate the audiobook edition of Gromit's autobiography releasing on October 22.

Audiobook narration confirmed for dog

Gromit, a character known for remaining silent in previous films, is set to speak for the first time. Martin Freeman will provide the voice for the audiobook version of Grand: The Autobiography of Gromit, as Told to Nick Park. Recording sessions took place earlier this month at Penguin Studios.

Creator selects actor for role

Nick Park stated that Freeman was the obvious choice after considering who could best represent the beloved character. The animator expressed genuine thrill and honour when Freeman agreed to participate in the project. Freeman previously portrayed Dr John Watson in Sherlock before taking on this new task.

Release date set for October

Both the book and the audiobook are scheduled for release on October 22. This edition marks a significant change for a character who has been mute for decades. The production aims to finally break Gromit's long-standing silence.
