Mariska Hargitay hosts 2026 Emmys in Los Angeles as The Pitt wins top drama prize
The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards aired live on Monday night from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles under host Mariska Hargitay.
Drama and comedy category winners
The Pitt took home the award for Outstanding Drama Series along with a win for Noah Wyle as lead actor. Widow's Bay secured the Outstanding Comedy Series title while Jean Smart won lead actress honors for Hacks. Pluribus and The Diplomat each received key wins on the drama side of the ceremony.
Reality competition and supporting awards
The Traitors won Outstanding Reality Competition Program during the broadcast event. Stephen Root was named Supporting Actor in a Comedy for his work on Widow's Bay. Tom Pelphrey received the Supporting Actor in a Drama award for his role in The Pitt.
