The singer visits the shop

Clarkson entered the high-end curiosity shop located on Atlantic Avenue to browse games and novelty items. She spent five minutes looking at merchandise that included speciality playing cards and kinetic sculptures. During her visit, she noticed a mechanical yellow bird named Molly mounted on the wall.

The price tag observation

A nearby sign displayed a price of US$15,000 for the singing and dancing bird. After leaving the location, Clarkson posted on X claiming she felt judged by the staff. She compared her experience to a scene from the film Pretty Woman where a customer is dismissed.

The online feud begins

Clarkson stated that the staff treated her as if she could not afford the item. The post sparked an online discussion regarding the interaction at the Brooklyn store. Days after the visit, the bird became one of the most famous toys on the internet.
